A75 Drummore Roundabout | Resurfacing Work

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing of the A75 at and west of Drummore Roundabout at Lochfoot from Friday 28th March until Saturday 5th April 2025.

The programme of work is as follows:

• From 8pm on Friday 28th March until 6am on Monday 31st March, a full weekend closure will be in place.
• From Monday 31st March until Thursday 3rd April, there will be overnight closures at this location during the hours of 8pm and 6am, each night.
• Traffic management will be removed by 6am on Friday 4th April.
  Diversion information:

A75 westbound traffic will be diverted to exit at Garroch Roundabout via the first exit to Cargenbridge. From here, traffic will follow the A711 westbound to Dalbeattie, before turning right onto the B794 and through Haugh of Urr, where diversion will end, and traffic will be able to re-join the A75.

A75 eastbound traffic will follow the diversion above but in the reverse direction.

Traffic for Lochfoot will also follow the diversion above and at Cargenbridge will take the exit at Lochfoot Junction.

Traffic for Terregles will follow local routes for Cargenbridge, Dumfries, or Henderland.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

The safety of our workforce, the site, and the travelling public is of utmost importance when planning road maintenance. A convoy system cannot be implemented during this scheme due to available road widths, which fall below the legal requirements to ensure the safety of road users and road workers. The absolute minimum width required for convoy working is 7.3 metres as per Chapter 8 Traffic Management Regulations.

Amey do not tolerate any threats, abuse, or reckless behaviour that poses a risk to the workforce or the travelling public. Any evidence of such incidents recorded via roadside camera, body camera, or other device may be provided to the relevant authorities in such cases.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the surface of the carriageway, including the roundabout circulatory, for a smoother ride quality and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
