A77 between Cairnryan and Innermessan |

A77 from Beoch Bridge to P&O Ferry Terminal, Stranraer

During 2025, SP Energy Networks will be investing to improve the electricity network between Stranraer & Cairnryan on 10th February 2025 to 2nd May 2025. 

These improvements are essential in order to reinforce the network to ensure continued delivery of a reliable, consistent and safe electricity supply which we know you rely on now more than ever. 

SP Energy Networks shall increase the security of supply to the network in this area. This means customers are less likely to be off supply for any sustained period.

  • We plan to replace an outdated high voltage cable that runs alongside the A77 from Cairnryan to Stranraer.
  • Throughout the duration of work no customers supplies will be affected
  • These works for this section will Commence 10/2/25, with works due to be complete by 02/05/25.

    Traffic management will be in place throughout the duration of works managed by Class One with Netel utility services handling excavation & Reinstatement.
