Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing on the A77 at the Sandyford Toll Roundabout, including the southbound approach road under a full weekend closure from 8pm on Friday 30th August until 6am on Monday 2nd September 2024.
A total closure of the southbound A77 carriageway will be in place between Dutchhouse Roundabout and Sandyford Toll Roundabout from 8pm on Friday 30th August until 6am on Monday 2nd September 2024. The closure will extend to Whitletts Roundabout each night between the hours of 8pm and 6am.
Overnight closures of the northbound A77 between Whitletts Roundabout and Dutchhouse Roundabout will also be required between 8pm and 6am each night from Friday 30th August until Monday 2nd September 2024.
In addition, there will also be daytime lane closures between 6am and 8pm on the A77 northbound approach to Sandyford Toll Roundabout, including the roundabout circulatory, on Saturday 31st August and Sunday 1st September 2024. Please note, no right turn will be available on to the A719 Junction or A77 southbound, those entering the roundabout from the A719 will only be able to exit on to the southbound A77.
Signed diversions will be in place as follows:
- Overnight southbound traffic will leave the A77 at Dutchhouse Roundabout and join the A78 to Monktonhead Roundabout and the A79, continue through Prestwick to Ayr Road and turn left onto the B743 Heathfield Road before re-joining the A77 at Whitletts Roundabout.
- Daytime southbound traffic from the A78 will follow the above overnight diversion.
- Daytime southbound traffic from the A77 will exit at Bellfield Interchange, follow the A76 south to Crossroads Roundabout and take the A719 southbound to re-join the A77 at Sandyford Toll Roundabout.
- Northbound traffic will leave the A77 at Whitletts Roundabout to the B743 Heathfield Road, before turning right onto the A79 Ayr Road and continuing through Prestwick to the A79, before joining the A78 at Monktonhead Roundabout and continuing to Dutchhouse Roundabout to re-join the A77.
- Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway surface and reducing the need for further maintenance in this location.
We thank road users for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
