SP Energy Networks (SPEN) own and maintain the electricity networks across central and southern Scotland which ensure we all benefit from a safe and secure supply of energy. As part of our investment programme in the transmission network we are currently refurbishing one of our key overhead line’s which routes through Ayrshire.
This line passes over the A78 between Sharphill Roundabout and Chapel Hill Roundabout. To allow our contractors, Morrisons Energy Services to undertake work safely at this location we require to invoke some overnight road closures which will take place between 20:00 – 05:00 hours on Wednesday 25th September 20.00 – Thursday 26th September 05.00 & Thursday 26th September 20.00 – Friday 27th September 05.00.
This work has been agreed with the local roads authority and advance signage will be in place including a clearly signed detour. SPEN and Morrison apologies for any inconvenience this activity may cause as we ensure our key national infrastructure continues to deliver energy across the nation.
