A78 Seamill | Programme of Active Travel
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking a programme of active travel upgrades on the A78 between Seamill and Montfode Roundabout from Monday 3rd March for approximately ten weeks with work taking place during both daytime and overnight hours during this period.
The works involve the completion of the shared footway widening works previously completed between Seamill and Montfode Roundabout (Ardrossan).
Traffic management will be in place with two-way and three-way temporary traffic light controls in operation for the project’s duration.
This scheme will benefit pedestrians and cyclists who currently use this section of the national cycle network by widening the existing shared footway. These improvements should also encourage more users to walk, cycle, and wheel for health, leisure, and commuting purposes, aligning with national objectives to reduce carbon emissions by providing higher quality active travel infrastructure.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
Road users are thanked for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
