A8 Port Glasgow | Resurfacing
This page has been archived. For information on live or future events and roadworks view our travel news.
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing on the westbound A8 in Port Glasgow between Woodhall Roundabout and Newark Roundabout from 8pm on Wednesday 11th September until 6am on Thursday 12th September.
This work will take place under a total closure and traffic will be diverted via Glasgow Road to Newark Roundabout. There will also be an overnight lane closure on Woodhall Roundabout as well as overnight temporary traffic lights on the Glasgow Road eastbound approach to Woodhall Roundabout.
Local access to the industrial units will be available via Parklea Road under temporary traffic lights.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable. These works will complete the package of schemes that was undertaken in August 2024.
This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
We thank road users for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
