Additional Overnight Work
Issued: 25 March 2025
Please be advised that due to operational issues, there will be no overnight work on the A82 in Dumbarton, between Strowan’s Well Road and the Abbotsford Hotel, on Sunday 30th March. There will therefore be an additional night of work on Tuesday 1st April 2025, with all traffic management being removed by 6am on Wednesday 2nd April 2025.
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential drainage and resurfacing works on the A82 in Dumbarton, between Strowan’s Well Road and the Abbotsford Hotel, from Monday 17th March until Tuesday 1st April 2025.
Works will take place using signal controlled lane closures on the A82 between 8pm and 6am each night, between Monday 17th March and Sunday 23rd March, with traffic management removed by 6am on Monday 24th March.
Signal controlled lane closures will then resume between 8pm and 6am each night, between Saturday 29th March and Monday 31st March, with traffic management removed by 6am on Tuesday 1st April.
Works will alternate between the southbound and northbound carriageways during the overnight periods.
The junctions with Greenhead Road, Dunbritton Road, Strowan’s Road and Strowan’s Well Road will be closed during the overnight works with local diversions in place. Residential access will be maintained to Barnwell Road.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
