Resurfacing improvements start Sunday 29 September until Friday 11 October
Overnight road closure with timed access 7pm to 5am

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are carrying out overnight road enhancements on the A83 north of Tarbert at Stonefield from Sunday 29 September until Friday 11 October. These improvements aim to enhance road safety, as well as providing a better driving experience for road users.

Works will be carried out overnight between 7pm and 5am to minimise distruption to road users. No works are planned on Friday and Saturday nights.

To facilitate these improvements and protect workers and road users, the A83 will be closed in both directions during working hours. Timed access through the site will be permitted at 8pm, 9pm, 11pm, 1am and 3am each night.

The road will be open between 5am and 7pm each day, where a 30mph speed limit will be in place as traffic will be running over a temporary surface.

Access through the work site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “This resurfacing project on the A83 will help provide a better and safer driving experience for road users. The traffic management arrangements are essential for ensuring the safety of road workers and users.

“We’ve taken steps to limit the overall impact of the projects by carrying out the work overnight and offering regular timed access through the site.

“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can. We thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete this essential road improvement project. We encourage road users to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.
