Update (02/09/24): Following full investigations, further repairs on Inchbae Bridge on the A835 are required therefore works are now due to be completed by the end of September.
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to start essential concrete repair works on the A835 at Inchbae bridge.
Throughout the duration of the works, the A835 at Inchbae will have temporary traffic lights to give safe access to allow BEAR Scotland to carry out crucial repairs.
Unfortunately, due to the extent of the defective concrete found, repair works have had to be extended and are now due to finish on Friday 27 September.
BEAR Scotland has been working with all relevant stakeholders to inform them of the project and share information about the traffic management arrangements that will be in place.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said, “It’s essential to undertake the repairs at this time to avoid further deterioration and avoid more disruption from any future extensive repair works. We thank local residents and road users for their patience. Our priority is to get the road fully open again as soon as possible, while ensuring the safety of those on site.”
