A85 East of Lochawe | Overnight Resurfacing
Road users travelling on the A85 east of Lochawe will benefit from an improved road surface as resurfacing works are set to be carried out by BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, next month.
These works involve resurfacing the road to make it more durable and resilient against inclement weather, providing a safer road for road users.
Resurfacing begins on Wednesday 5 February until the morning of Friday 14 February. Works will be carried out between the hours of 7pm and 5am each night.
Outwith these hours, traffic management will be removed. However, a 30mph speed limit will remain in place as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface.
The carriageway will be closed in both directions each night between 7pm and 5am due to restricted road widths through this section of the A85. During periods of closure, timed access will be available at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, 12pm, 2am and 4am to allow waiting vehicles to be escorted through the site safely.
Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained for the full duration of the works. An alternative route is also available via the A82 and A828 for those who do not wish to wait for a timed access.
