UPDATE (11/12/24): Due to low temperatures, surfacing works on the A85 Kilmaronaig will now be completed on Thursday 12 December.
Motorists using the A85 will benefit from an improved road surface as resurfacing works set to be carried out next week at Kilmaronaig, two miles East of Connel.
The improvements will involve resurfacing 1km of road to make it more durable and resilient against inclement weather, as well as providing a safer surface for road users.
The works are provisionally programmed for construction from Tuesday 26 November to Thursday 12 December with no works taking place on Saturdays or Sundays. Works will be carried out between the hours of 7am and 7pm each day under a 10mph convoy with temporary traffic lights. Out with these hours traffic management will be removed however, a 30mph speed limit will remain in place, as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said “These essential resurfacing works will upgrade the existing road surface, greatly improving the quality and safety for road users. We thank motorists for their patience ahead of these road improvements.”
