A87 Broadford | Surfacing Improvements

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out essential resurfacing works at two locations on the A87 at Broadford:

A87 North of Broadford (High Rd to Pairc Nan Craobh): Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 March
A87 South of Broadford (Waterloo to Old School Square): Wednesday 26 March to Tuesday 1 April (no works over the weekend)
 

Works will be carried out between the hours of 8pm and 5am.

The surfacing improvements will strengthen road durability and resilience against inclement weather, providing a safer road for users. These works are necessary to address the deteriorating surface course conditions and improve road markings.

Outwith these hours traffic management will be removed however, a reduced speed limit will remain in place, as traffic will be traveling over a temporary surface.

Due to restricted road widths through this section of the A87, we need to close the carriageway to ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the traveling public. During periods of closure, amnesties at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, 12pm, 2am and 4am will allow waiting vehicles to be escorted through the site. Outwith the working hours traffic management will be removed however, a reduced speed limit will remain in place, as traffic will be traveling over a temporary surface.

Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and other relevant stakeholders to make them aware of the plans in advance.
