UPDATE (16/09/2024): Due to recent changes in the programme works at A87 Cluanie Inn have been delayed until Tuesday 1 October.
Road users travelling on the A87 through Glen Moriston, near Cluanie, will benefit from an improved road surface as resurfacing works are set to be carried out next month by BEAR Scotland on behalf of Transport Scotland.
The essential works will involve resurfacing the road to make it more durable and resilient against inclement weather, as well as providing a safer road for road users.
The works are due to start from Tuesday 1 until Friday 4 October. Works will be carried out between the hours of 7am and 7pm each day under a 10mph convoy with two-way temporary traffic lights. Outwith these hours, traffic management will be removed, however a 30mph speed limit will remain in place where applicable, as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said “These essential resurfacing works will upgrade the existing road surface, greatly improving the quality and safety for road users.
“We thank motorists for their patience ahead of these road improvements.
“We encourage road users to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
