A9 Killiecrankie | Filter Drain Improvements
UPDATE (05/12/24): Due to operational availability, drainage improvements on the A9 Killiecrankie will now start on Monday 13 January 2025.
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out essential filter drain improvement works on the A9 at Killiecrankie from Monday 13 January 2025. Works will be carried out between 7pm and 6am, and are due to be completed by Friday 31 January 2025, weather permitting. There will be no works on Friday and Saturday nights.
To protect road users and the workforce, it will be necessary to implement a lane closure with temporary two-way traffic lights to safely control traffic passed the site.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West representative said, “These essential filter drain improvement works will ensure the drainage system continues to operate effectively and reduce the risk of flooding on the trunk road.
“To reduce the impact on the travelling public, we have programmed the works during the night, outwith peak traffic volumes. We thank road users for their patience in advance while we complete these works.
“We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
