A9 Longman and Raigmore | Drainage Improvements
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out essential drainage investigation and improvement works on the A9 between Longman Roundabout and Raigmore Interchange.
The investigation and improvement works are programmed to be undertaken overnight between Monday 10 March and Friday 4 April from 7:30pm until 6am each night, with no works currently planned to take place on Saturday or Sunday nights.
To protect road users, pedestrians, and workers, temporary single lane closures will be in place with both lanes open as normal outwith working hours.
Access through the worksite for emergency service vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s Northwest Unit Representative said; “These drainage investigation and improvement works will provide valuable information regarding the drainage system and reduce the risk of flooding on the trunk road and adjacent local authority roads.”
“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these works.”
“We encourage road users to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
Real time journey information is available from Traffic Scotland on www.traffic.gov.scot, X @trafficscotland or on the mobile site my.trafficscotland.org.
