A9 Moy Rail Bridge | Bridge Repair

20th of January 2025, 12:00am to 10th of February 2025, 11:59pm

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland are set to carry out essential maintenance works on the A9, at Moy Rail Bridge located three miles north from Tomatin from Monday 20 January.

The works will involve partial refurbishment of the bridge deck, replacing two expansion joints and resurfacing.

To protect the workforce and road users, a 30mph speed restriction will be in place with temporary two-way traffic lights in use 24 hours a day for 3 weeks. One night of convoy will also be required on Friday 24 January to allow operatives to carry out surfacing. It is anticipated that delays of between 8 and 12 minutes can be expected at peak periods.

Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the resurfacing improvements to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “This repair work on the A9 at Moy Rail Bridge will address existing defects on the bridge, providing road users with a smoother and safer journey.

“Our teams will carry out these works quickly, with safety as our top priority. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.”
