A90 Kingsway in Dundee | Overnight Roadworks

Dundee
6th of January 2025, 7:30pm to 8th of February 2025, 6:30am

Amey is carrying out overnight work to install temporary pedestrian crossing points on the A90 Kingsway in Dundee from Monday 6th January 2025 to Saturday 8th February 2025.

The work is in preparation for essential maintenance that Amey will be undertaking, on behalf of Transport Scotland, to Strathmartine Road footbridge and Old Glamis Road footbridge on the A90 Kingsway later in 2025.

Before these bridge refurbishments can take place, two temporary pedestrian crossings will be constructed as alternative crossing points on the A90 Kingsway for use during the main works.

These crossings will be removed when the footbridge refurbishments are completed. The temporary pedestrian crossings will not be operational until the main bridge works commence.

Installation work will take place from Monday to Friday each week, between 7.30pm and 6.30am each night.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the work will be undertaken under alternating overnight single lane closures between Strathmartine Roundabout and Old Glamis Roundabout.

A temporary restriction prohibiting vehicle use of the A90 access point adjacent to 347-349 Kingsway will also be required during construction of the crossing nearest to Strathmartine Roundabout. Alternative access and egress points will be available adjacent to the Kingsway.

Due to the nature of these works, it is likely that there will be an increase in noise levels during nightshift hours. Amey are working to programme operations to minimise any disturbance as much as possible

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
