A90 North Water bridge in Aberdeenshire | Safety Improvements
Amey is undertaking safety improvements on A90 Upper North Water Bridge that crosses the River North Esk on the border between Angus and Aberdeenshire from Sunday 9th March to Friday 30th May.
The £800,000 worth of improvements, which Amey is carrying out on behalf of Transport Scotland, will include the replacement of bearings on the southbound structure to ensure the continued safe operations of the bridge, which is used by over 19,650 daily road users.
Temporary traffic management will be in place continuously during the works.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists, the essential maintenance will be undertaken under southbound lane 1 closures.
In addition to the lane closures, short duration full closures of the southbound bridge will also be required for this work. These closures are expected to be under 15 minutes and will take place at night, when traffic flows are low, and will be controlled under temporary traffic lights.
