A90 South Of Fraserburgh | Surfacing Improvements

A90 South of Fraserburgh
13th of January 2025, 7:30pm to 22nd of January 2025, 6:30am

UPDATE (08/01/25): Due to adverse weather the start date for this scheme has been pushed back to Monday 13th January. Work is scheduled to be completed by Wednesday 22nd January.

Amey is undertaking overnight surfacing improvements on the A90 to the south of Fraserburgh from Sunday 12th January to Monday 20th January.

The project, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will address defects on approximately 625 metres of the A90 trunk road.

Work will take place from 430 metres south of Philorth to 520 metres north of Invernorth Junction.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out under overnight road closures between 7.30pm and 6.30am.

There will be no works on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th January.

All traffic management is scheduled to be removed by 6.30am on Monday 20th January.

The following diversion will be in place during the overnight road closures.

Northbound traffic can leave the A90 at the B9032 exit for New Aberdour and follow the route to Memsie, before turning right onto the A981 and continuing to Fraserburgh. Southbound traffic can follow the route in reverse.

The resurfacing will benefit more than 7,100 vehicles who use this route each day, creating a smoother ride for motorists and reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
