A92 Cowdenbeath to Lochgelly | Road Safety Upgrades
Amey is delivering overnight road safety improvements on the A92 in Fife from Cowdenbeath to Lochgelly between Sunday 27th October and Monday 17th February.
The essential maintenance will deliver new vehicle safety barriers on the eastbound and westbound verges of the A92 and upgraded signage.
Work will take place on both carriageways from before the A92 westbound off slip to Cowdenbeath to after the A92 westbound on slip from Lochgelly.
The £400,000 project, which Amey is delivering on behalf of Transport Scotland, will benefit more than 51,000 vehicles who use this route each day.
Work will take place overnight from Sunday to Thursday each week between 7.30pm and 6.30am.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the work will be undertaken using single lane closures on both A92 carriageways. There will also be the need for occasional convoy working when work necessitates. There will be no traffic management in place on Friday and Saturday nights.
There will be a 50mph speed limit in place for the duration of the works due to a temporary barrier being in place.
Traffic management will be lifted each morning at 6.30am before being put back in place each night at 7.30pm.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
