A92 Dundee, East Dock Street | Overnight Resurfacing

East Dock Street, between Gellatly Street and Broughty Ferry Road
6th of April 2025, 8:00pm to 10th of May 2025, 6:30am

Amey is undertaking overnight surfacing improvements to the A92 at East Dock Street in Dundee between Sunday 6th April and Saturday 10th May.

The £470,000 project, which Amey is carrying out on behalf of Transport Scotland, will address defects on more than 1700 metres of the A92 road surface travelling eastbound on East Dock Street, between Gellatly Street and Broughty Ferry Road

The project will take place in two phases, initially from Sunday 6th April to Friday 11th April, then from Tuesday 22nd April to Saturday 10th May.

There will be no work undertaken or traffic management in place between Saturday 12th April and Monday 21st April.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out under overnight road closures between 8pm and 6.30am each night, as per the following arrangements:

Sunday 6th April to Friday 11th April

There will be overnight road closures each night (8pm-6.30am) of the A92 eastbound between East Marketgait and Broughty Ferry Road.

Traffic will be diverted via East Marketgait, Seagate, Blackscroft and Arbroath Road.

Traffic should access East Whale Lane from Seagate. Traffic should access Peep O’Day Lane and Market Street from Broughty Ferry Road.

All traffic management is scheduled to be removed by 6.30am on Friday 11th April.

Tuesday 22nd April to Saturday 10th May

There will be overnight road closures each night (8pm-6.30am) of the A92 eastbound between Commercial Street and Broughty Ferry Road.

There will be no access eastbound from the Tay Road Bridge during the closures. East Marketgait will also be closed.

Traffic will be diverted via the A991 to join the Phase One diversion at East Port Roundabout.

Traffic within the city centre will be diverted via Seagate to join the above diversion.

Traffic should access Gellatly Street, Trades Lane and East Whale Lane from Seagate.

There will be no works on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th April, and Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th May during this period.

All traffic management is scheduled to be removed by 6.30am on Saturday 10th May.

There will be escorted access for customers and staff leaving Gallagher Retail Park during both phases.

The resurfacing will benefit nearly 6,500 vehicles who use this route each day, creating a smoother ride for motorists and reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
