A96 Kintore and Inverurie | Woodland Management

18th of November 2024, 8:00am to 26th of February 2025, 4:00pm

Amey is undertaking woodland management on A96 between Kintore and Inverurie from Monday 18th November to Wednesday 26th February.

The scheme, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, includes work to trim and remove areas of woodland and clear scrub and vegetation to ground level on the A96 between the B977 Gauchhill Road and 800m north of Blackhall roundabout.

These works will reduce the risk of safety hazards due to overgrowth that can lead to a decline in tree health and loss of habitat for wildlife.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential works will be undertaken under daytime lane closures at the dual section and at the single carriageway section.

Works on the dual carriageway section will have temporary traffic management on the hard shoulder and lane 1 closures 24 hours a day Monday to Friday. Traffic management will move as the works progress.

The single carriageway section will have temporary traffic lights in place from 9am to 4pm. The temporary traffic lights will move as the works progress.

Please note that the Kintore on slip will be closed Saturday 25th January from 8am to 4pm. For diversion continue on the B977 Gauchhill Road/School Road to B987 Northern Road to Kintore Interchange.

Blackhalll Roundabout southbound exit arm to A96 will be closed Sunday 2nd February and the southbound lane from 8am to 4pm. For diversions follow the B9170 Blackhall Road, right into B9144 West High Street, right onto B9001 Market Place, continue on the B9170 High Street, right onto B993 Inverurie roundabout back onto the A96.

Where works are situated adjacent to a footway, a pedestrian marshal will guide pedestrians by the works.
