M8 Eastbound Junction 7 and Junction 6 | Overnight Closures

Road users are advised that the M8 eastbound carriageway between Junction 7 Eurocentral and Junction 6 Newhouse will be closed overnight over a two-week period, commencing Monday 02 September 2024 for essential carriageway resurfacing works.
The works are planned to be undertaken as follows:
The M8 eastbound carriageway between Junction 7 Eurocentral and Junction 6 Newhouse will be closed overnight for 10 nights, (except Saturday 07 September) from 8pm to 6am the following morning, on the following dates:
· Monday 02 September to Friday 06 September (5 nights)
· Sunday 08 September to Thursday 12 September (5 nights)
As a result, the following slip road will also be closed:
· M8 eastbound Junction 6A Chapelhall off slip road
The closures are required to ensure road user and road worker safety whilst essential road resurfacing works are undertaken and have been scheduled overnight to minimise disruption to traffic. The road will reopen at 6am each morning.
A signed diversion route will be in place via M8 eastbound Junction 7 Eurocentral off slip road to Eurocentral North roundabout, take 2nd exit for A8 eastbound all-purpose road to Chapelhall Junction North roundabout, take 2nd exit for A8 eastbound all-purpose road and link road to M8 eastbound at Junction 6 Newhouse and follow permanent signage on M8 for Edinburgh.
Emergency services access will be maintained but extra caution and a reduce speed is requested due to the presence of highways operatives, plant equipment and different road surface levels due to the road surfacing works.
The works will be carried out by Scottish Road Partnership on behalf of Transport Scotland to maintain the integrity and safety of this route. The works have been planned in consultation with Transport Scotland and the emergency services.
