M8 Junction 16 | VRS Upgrades
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential VRS (Vehicle Restraint System) upgrades on the M8 westbound at the Junction 16 off-slip (Townhead) from Sunday 2nd February until Friday 28th February 2025. This work will take place every Sunday to Thursday night between the hours of 7:30pm and 6:30am.
This work will be completed using total off-slip closures at this location and a signed diversion will be in operation. Traffic will be directed to continue on the M8 westbound and exit at the Junction 18 off-slip to follow the A804, West Graham Street, Garscube Road and the A804, where this diversion will end.
There will also be investigation works taking place at this location between 7:30pm on Friday 24th January and 6:30am on Saturday 25th January 2025 and will utilise the above diversion.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety of the carriageway at this location and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future
