M8 Junction 29 | Essential Resurfacing

20th of January 2025, 8:00pm to 28th of January 2025, 6:00am

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing on the M8 eastbound at Junction 29, including the Junction 29 eastbound off-slip, from Monday 20th January until Tuesday 28th January 2025 between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night.

This work will require overnight closures of the M8 eastbound carriageway at this location, including the Junction 29A and Junction 30 on-slip roads. Signed diversions will be in place as follows:

Eastbound M8 traffic will exit at Junction 30, take the M898 and follow the A726 through Erskine and re-joining the M8 at Junction 29 (St James Interchange).

Southbound traffic from the A898 Erskine Bridge for the eastbound M8 will exit after the bridge onto the A726 and follow the above diversion.

Traffic wishing to join the M8 eastbound at Junction 29A will head east on Greenock Road and join the A726 southbound at Red Smiddy Roundabout to follow the above diversion.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
