Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking urgent bridge expansion joint replacements on the M8 westbound at Georgetown Road, between Junctions 29 and 29A. The work will take place from 8pm on Wednesday 12th March until 6am on Thursday 13th March 2025.

A total road closure of the M8 westbound will be in effect from the off-slip road to St. James Interchange at Junction 29 to the slip road from M898 to M8 westbound. There will also be a Lane Two closure on the M8 eastbound carriageway at this location. M8 westbound traffic will be diverted through St. James Interchange onto the A726 and continue until joining the M898. From here, traffic will travel in a southerly direction to merge onto the M8 westbound at Junction 30 where the diversion will end.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition of the structure.
Road users are thanked for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
