M8 Kingston Bridge Complex | Inspections Works

M8 Kinsgton Bridge

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are undertaking essential reactive bridge inspections across the M8 Kingston Bridge Complex. Work will continue on Monday 17th March 2025, and will take place each weeknight between 8pm and 6am.

Reactive inspections will run until May 2025. Weekly updates detailing traffic management arrangements will be available at swtrunkroads.scot.

Traffic Management for Week Commencing Monday 17th March 2025
 

The following overnight road closures will be in place:


Monday 17th

A804 North St – Between The Broomielaw and Argyle St:
Westbound traffic: Continue on the Broomielaw westbound to Anderston Quay and follow Finnieston Way, Congress Way, Pointhouse Road, Finnieston Street and the A814 Expressway, where this diversion will end.
Eastbound traffic: Continue on Broomielaw eastbound to Brown Street and Argyle Street, where this diversion will end.
A804 Newton St – Between Argyle St and The Broomielaw:
Westbound traffic: Continue on Argyle St Eastbound to James Watt St and the Broomielaw, where this diversion will end.
Eastbound traffic: Continue on Argyle St Westbound to the Clydeside Expressway, Finnieston St, Lancefield Quay and follow on to the Broomielaw where this diversion will end.
 

Tuesday 18th

A804 Newton St – Between Argyle St and The Broomielaw:
Westbound traffic: Continue on Argyle St Westbound to the Clydeside Expressway, Finnieston St, Lancefield Quay and follow on to the Broomielaw where this diversion will end.
Eastbound traffic: Continue on Argyle St Eastbound to James Watt St and the Broomielaw, where this diversion will end.
 

Wednesday 19th

Argyle St Westbound – 2 Lanes Towards the Clydeside Expressway Between Newton St and North St:
Diverted traffic: Turn onto North St, St Vincent St, Newton St, Argyle St, James Watt St, the Broomielaw, North St, where this diversion will end.
 

Thursday 20th

Argyle St Westbound – 2 Right Turn Lanes Between Newton St and North St:
Diverted traffic: Continue on to the Clydeside Expressway, Finnieston St, Congress Way, Pointhouse Rd, Clydeside Expressway Eastbound, where this diversion will end.
A804 Newton St – Between Argyle St and The Broomielaw:
Eastbound traffic: Continue on Argyle St Eastbound to James Watt St and the Broomielaw, where this diversion will end.

Friday 21st

Argyle St Eastbound – Between Newton St and North St:
Diverted traffic: Continue on to the Clydeside Expressway, Finnieston St, Congress Way, Pointhouse Rd, Clydeside Expressway Eastbound, where this diversion will end.
M8 Junction 18 Anderston Off Slip Closure:
Diverted traffic: Continue on the M8 Westbound, M8 Jct 20 Off slip, West St, Kingston St, Commerce St, A77 George V Bridge, The Broomielaw, Brown St, Argyle St, where this diversion will end.
M8 Junction 17 On Slip Closure:
Diverted traffic: Charing X Southbound, A804 St Georges Rd Southbound, A804 Newton St, M8 Jct 18 Newton St on Ramp, where this diversion will end.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Please be conscious of other roadworks across the M8 corridor through Glasgow, any vehicles entering the LEZ as part of the diversion route must always follow the diversion signage. Any vehicles that deviate from the published diversion route may be issued with penalty charge notice(s) from Glasgow City Council should they be captured out with the agreed diversion route.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

These schemes have been planned in consultation with Transport Scotland, Traffic Scotland, the emergency services, Glasgow City Council, and other key stakeholders

These schemes will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition and safety of the structures and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
