M8 & M80 | Gantry Refurbishments
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential gantry maintenance on the M8 and M80 in various locations from Saturday 5th April until Sunday 13th July 2025 between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night of the works.
These works will take place as follows:
8pm on Saturday 5th April – 6am Sunday 6th April & 8pm on Saturday 14th June – 6am on Sunday 15th June: There will be a closure of the M80 northbound between Junctions 1 and 2 and traffic will be diverted via the M8 Junction 12 westbound off-slip to follow the A80, Provanmill Road, Langdale Street, Royston Road, Robroyston Road and re-join the M80 northbound via the Junction 2 on-slip.
8pm on Saturday 19th April – 6am Sunday 20th April: There will be a closure of the M8 westbound between Junctions 26 and 27. Traffic will be diverted via the Junction 26 off-slip to Hillington Roundabout to follow the A736, A8 Glasgow Road/Glebe Street, Paisley Road and re-join the M8 westbound at Junction 27 (Arkleston).
8pm on Saturday 3rd May – 6am Sunday 4th May: There will be closures of the M8 eastbound between Junctions 26 and 27. Traffic will be directed to exit the carriageway at the Junction 29 off-slip and follow the A726 and Renfrew Road to re-join the M8 eastbound at the Junction 27 on-slip.
8pm on Saturday 28th June – 6am Sunday 29th June: There will be a closure of the M8 westbound between Junctions 27 and 28. Traffic will be diverted to exit the carriageway via the Junction 27 off-slip to follow Renfrew Road, Weir Street, St James Street, Greenock Road and St James Interchange to re-join the M8 westbound.
8pm on Saturday 12th July – 6am on Sunday 13th July: There will be closures of the M8 eastbound between Junctions 27 and 28. Traffic will be directed to exit the carriageway at the Junction 29 off-slip and follow the A726 and Renfrew Road to re-join the M8 eastbound at the Junction 27 on-slip.
This is the Second of two phases of ongoing work in this location.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
