Overnight lane and carriageway closures will be in place on the M876 on the nights of 9 to 13 September.

This is to allow Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland to complete a variety of routine maintenance tasks that were postponed earlier this summer when the M80 Junction 9 northbound off-slip was closed due to subsidence. With a temporary slip road now open at M80 Junction 9, these works on the M876 can go ahead without overnight closures causing excessive disruption.

Works to be carried out include grass cutting, drainage cleaning, sign cleaning, detailed inspections and road sweeping.

Dates, locations and diversion routes for closures are listed in the table below.

Diversion information

Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and other relevant stakeholders to share information about the works in advance.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “It is essential for the safety of the workforce that we close the carriageway while these works are carried out, however we’ll be taking advantage of the closures to carry out as many routine maintenance tasks as possible, reducing the overall need for closures and traffic management.

“We’re grateful to road users and the local community for their patience and understanding.”
