M9 Junction 2 Philpstoun | Resurfacing
BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, is set to carry out 0.8km of resurfacing work on the M9 prior to Junction 2, Philpstoun, southbound.
The work will take place over one night, between the hours of 19:30 and 06:00, commencing on the night of Thursday 17 April.
For the safety of road users and the workforce, the M9 will be closed at Junction 5 southbound on the above dates and times to ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public. During periods of closure, a signed diversion route will be in place for traffic travelling southbound via the M9 Junction 5 SB Offslip, A905, Inchyra Road, A905, A904, A993, A904, M90 SB Junction 1A where traffic can rejoin the M9 SB at Junction 1A. This will add an estimated 14 minutes and 4.7 additional miles to affected journeys.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will improve ride quality and safety for motorists using this section of the M9.
“A carriageway closure is essential for safety; however, we’ve scheduled the works overnight to minimise disruption.
“If you do need to travel during these works, please allow some extra time for your journey.”
Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and other relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
