A further phase of major works on Halbeath Roundabout at Dunfermline is due to take place under a full weekend contraflow from Friday 28th March to Monday 31st March.

The £800,000 upgrade, delivered by Amey on behalf of Transport Scotland, includes resurfacing of the roundabout circulatory, renewal of bridge joints, upgrades to traffic signals and road markings, as well as the introduction of intelligent road studs.

The next phase will include both resurfacing and bridge joint work under the following traffic management:

Weekend Contraflow on the roundabout/Slip Road Closures

  • Friday 28th March to Monday 31st March (8pm on Friday - 6am on Monday).

Overnight Contraflow on the roundabout/Slip Road Closures

  • Monday 31st March to Tuesday 8th April (8pm - 6am each night).

Work will be undertaken using a contraflow on Halbeath Roundabout and closures of all M90 slip roads at the roundabout.

Sanderling Way will be closed in both directions to the roundabout at Whimbrel Place during this phase. Access to Fife Leisure Park at Whimbrel Place will still be available.

Only east to west, and west to east, movements across Halbeath Roundabout will be maintained. Traffic will be able to travel on the A92 (both to and from the Crossgates direction) and the A907 (both to and from Halbeath in Dunfermline).

Road users are being asked to plan their journey in advance. Please refer to Amey’s website https://netrunkroads.scot/halbeath-roundabout-dunfermline-at-m90-jct-3/ for diversion details in relation to the slip road and Sanderling Way closures.
