M90 South Of Perth Near Glenfarg | VRS Upgrades
Amey is undertaking VRS upgrades on the M90 south of Perth from Monday 6th January to Friday 28th March. These upgrades will take place on the M90 from the B996 overbridge to junction 7 centre reserve.
The £1,800,000 worth of essential works, which Amey is carrying out on behalf of Transport Scotland, will improve road safety for over 26,000 daily road users. These works will upgrade the existing vehicle restraint system in the centre reserve of the M90 between B996 overbridge and Junction 7.
Work will take place Sunday to Thursday each night between 7.30pm to 6.30am.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists, the essential maintenance will be carried out under the following traffic management arrangements.
Offside lane 2 closures shall be in place both northbound and southbound for the duration of works.
There will be a full closure of the M90 northbound from Monday 6th January to Thursday 9th January, Sunday 2nd February to Thursday 6th February, Sunday 2nd March to Thursday 6th March and Sunday 23rd March to Thursday 27th March.
During these closures the following diversions are in place with temporary traffic management providing signage for the route.
Northbound from M90 junction 6 – Take the 3rd exit at the roundabout onto the A922 Kinross Road and take the 1st exit at the next roundabout to continue on to the A922 Springfield Road. Take the next left onto the A996 and follow north to the next roundabout. Take the 3rd exit continuing on the B996 Perth Road, till it merges with the A91. Continue on the A91 to Gateside, turning left onto A912. Continue on A912 till the junction with the B996 turning right and continuing on the A912 to join the M90 at Junction 9, Bridge of Earn.
From M90 junction 7 – Continue on the A91 to Milnathort and at roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the B996 Perth Road. Follow the B996 till it merges into the A91. At Gateside turn left onto the A912. Continue on A912 till the junction with the B996, turning right and continue on the A912 to join the M90 at junction 9, Bridge of Earn.
A temporary 50mph speed limit and temporary vehicle restraint system will be in place 24/7 while the works are being undertaken.
