UPDATE (16/10/24): Due to adverse weather, works on this scheme have been cancelled tonight (Wednesday 16 October).

Amey is undertaking surfacing improvements on more than 2000 metres of the A90 at Peterhead from Tuesday 1st October to Saturday 19th October.

The £634,000 project, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will address defects on 2023 metres of the A90 from Blackhills Road to Howe o’Buchan Roundabout.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out under overnight road closures on Sunday to Thursday each week between 7.30pm and 6.30am.

The following diversions will be in place during the overnight road closure.

Northbound traffic will leave the A90 at Invernettie Roundabout, following the A982 South Road and taking the first exit at the roundabout onto the A950 to rejoin the A90 at Howe o’Buchan Roundabout. Southbound traffic will follow the route in reverse.

The Cairntrodlie and Nether Kinmundy junctions will be closed during the works. Access for Cairntrodlie will be via local roads in Peterhead. Access for Nether Kinmundy will be via the A950 Blackhills.

There will be no work on each Friday and Saturday night during the work period, Friday 4th/Saturday 5th October and Friday 11th/Saturday 12th October.

The resurfacing will benefit more than 7,400 vehicles who use this route each day, creating a smoother ride for motorists and reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
